What a wonderful looking hike!! I remember doing a few hikes like that at the Grand Canyon and loved it! Do they close this trail when there might be a chance of flash floods?
As I recall, there is a notice at the Temple of Sinawava (which is where the shuttle drops you off to go do this hike) which indicates the potential risk for going into the Narrows. To the best of my knowledge, they don’t actually close it, but they do strongly warn you off when there’s a flash flood potential.
The park does try to be conscientious warning of the probability of flooding, but It’s very tricky since rain 15 miles away can still create flooding conditions in the Narrows. In late 2016 2 or 3 hikers died there after a flash flood.
