Mike, Bob, Nancy, Linda, and I hiked 7.6 miles starting from the Horse Staging Area.
Shortly after sunrise from the parking area:
Looking towards Red Mountain from the parking lot:
Bees around the saguaro blossoms:
Looking towards Four Peaks from atop T-Bone Ridge:
We saw this flower on a tree in Stoneman Wash. (Perhaps someone can identify it?)
A stand of saguaros in Stoneman Wash:

It was a nice, cool day for the hike…..great photos. I looked up that tree/shrub and it may be a desert willow.

These are some of your BEST. Yes, I think Linda, it may be a desert willow–usually near a higher water level or drain. Thank you!!

I concur – a Desert Willow it is. My tortoises love the flower so we planted a Desert Willow tree just for them. The tree can actually grow to be quite large in a setting with regular water.
